WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF BALLOONING
This is the website of Goldrush Ballooning Pty. Ltd., trading as Bendigo Ballooning in Victoria, Adelaide Ballooning in South Australia, and Tassie Ballooning in Tasmania. Weather permitting, we fly all year round in Victoria and South Australia, and in February, March and early April each year in Tasmania. To check availability, go to our vacancies table. In terms of strike rate, balloon flights in Victoria and South Australia are better done in Autumn and early Winter than in Spring and Summer. Although a good day is good at any time, we lose more flights in Spring and Summer to strong winds, rain, high ambient temperatures and total fire bans than we lose in Autumn and Winter to fog, wind and rain. In South Australia, we are based at Strathalbyn. Flying prospects at Strathalbyn are marginal at best tomorrow. The weather can change surprisingly quickly though, so keep checking this page for the latest assessment.
In Tasmania, we're based in Longford, south-west of Launceston. Ballooning in Tasmania is seasonal. Our 2008 season has ended. The 2009 season will run from late January to early April 2009. See flying prospects for a summary.
